BYD’s New Global Design Hub has Taken Shape in Shenzhen, China

BYD has recently unveiled its brand new Global Design Center at its headquarters in Shenzhen. With the guiding principle of “Design with Passion,” BYD is taking bold steps to accelerate the development of design theory and philosophy in the era of electrified and intelligent mobility.

The Design Center will serve as the hub for designing cars, rail transit, and other transportation options, and it has the capacity to accommodate 300 designers and 100 external design staff. The building itself boasts a stunning “Black Crystal” design and spans an impressive 12,600 square meters, equivalent to almost two full-size football fields.

To ensure the creation of cutting-edge BYD vehicles, the Design Center has enlisted the expertise of three internationally acclaimed design experts. One of them is Wolfgang Egger, the BYD Global Design Director, who has an impressive track record as the design director for renowned Italian and German luxury automakers, having contributed to the development of several award-winning models.

Additionally, JuanMa Lopez, the BYD Global Exterior Design Director, brings his experience in designing car interiors and exteriors for prestigious Italian supercar brands and more.

Lastly, Michele Jauch-Paganetti, the BYD Global Interior Design Director, has a proven track record in interior design at leading German marques. With this exceptional team, the Design Center is poised to create the next generation of BYD vehicles that will undoubtedly captivate the market with their innovative and stylish designs.
